Art Deco Inspired Posters

These posters were inspired by the Art Deco movement of the 1920s.

The Art Deco movement of the 1920s is one of my favorite timeframes. These two posters were really fun to put together. It took me a while to come up with both of these ideas, but after getting some inspiration from a movie poster from The Great Gatsby and other art deco art, I was able to come up with these first designs.

This first poster was inspired more closely by The Great Gatsby poster. I really like how I was able to use lines and shapes in a different way then we are used to seeing them. I think the mixture of the straight and curved lines really gives it that Art Deco feel.

The second poster was inspired of a stained glass feel. Using the straight and curved lines to define the shape of the pointe shoe really helps it to stand out. I really like how none of the shapes are the same. The flat color also helps to define the shape of the shoe. If it was all one color you wouldn't see the shoe was well. I am very pleased with out it turned out.
